While attending school, Dr. Kaufmann also interned with Dr. James T. Reese, who specialized in Environmental Medicine and Oriental and German Biological Medicine. Kaufmann later joined The Occidental Institute in Vancouver, BC, and started a fantastic journey into German Biological and Functional Medicine.

Dr. Kaufmann studied under Dr.Walter Sturm, Dr. Sandy Wood, Dr. Helmut Schimmel, Dr. Daniel Clark, Dr. Douglas Leber, Dr. Thomas Rau, Dr. Lee, and Dr. Zhao, to name a few.

Trips to Germany with the Occidental Research Group gave him the opportunity to work with the "Who's Who" in functional medicine. Further studies took him into Environmental Medicine and how environmental toxins affect one's health.
The study of Homotoxicology by Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg became a natural way of thinking, in terms of diagnosis, for Dr. Kaufmann and went hand-in-hand with TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). An "Art of Healing" was taking shape.

Dr. Kaufmann holds certifications in Bio-Energetic testing, also called ElectroAcupuncture, according to Voll, or EAV. Further courses and certifications in Blood Chemistry and Biological Terrain Testing, Homeopathy, Parasitology, Endocrinology, and Thermography were to follow. The study of Empirical Relationships between Odontomas (dental) and Organs/Diseases was yet another piece to the understanding and complexities of the human body. Dr. Kaufmann taught Introduction to Biological Medicine at the East/West College of Natural Medicine (Acupuncture School in Sarasota, Florida) in 1996. Since then, he has taught numerous clinical presentations at various Alternative Medicine Conferences.

Dr. Kaufmann teaches other healthcare professionals in their clinical settings and has become, as some say, an "expert in his field." He has been the owner and director of the Abundant Health and Wellness Center along with his wife, Melissa, for 14 years in Sarasota, Florida.

In 2007, Dr. Kaufmann moved his family to Bayfield, Colorado, where he resides with his wife Melissa. He travels the world looking for the newest technologies to help his patients. Therefore, he will always strive to do the least harm and provide his patients with the most cutting-edge healing modalities.
